Tale of Rose & Romance
PC Fair Craze
Went to PC Fair on Saturday, mainly to get a couple of stuff, like a portable hard disk and some satin printer paper. Parked at Avenue K and crossed over thru the KLCC LRT station, which was by the way, C-R-O-W-D-E-D! If you don't believe me, take a look at this (too bad I didn't snap more pics)~
Tons of people lining up at both the manual and auto counters buying tickets, creating a massive barrier of solid humans. It was almost impenetrable. Anyways, made it pass and went on to Suria KLCC, which was packed like a can of sardines and was also a real obstacle course (they had a nice huge tree btw, the same one that they've used for a couple of years).
When we reached at the actual Convention Center, there was a sign, "the length of the PC Fair is 1xxxm (forgot the actual figure), if you do not wish to enter please turn back now". That really made me laugh... I liked the sound system room as usual, it's so cool and funny to see them all at war amongst themselves, blasting each other with the latest dance beats... There were tons of bargains, wish there was actually $$ to spend... Oh, the Pen Drive booth was one of the more creative ones, with a Roman theme, complete with guys and gurls dressed like Romans and even featuring a Roman architecture-inspired booth design with fountains and pillars. Oh... there's also this totally weird painting:
The Rose among the Hard Disks
OK, walked for a couple of hours before I chose a shop to get my portable hard disk. Wanted to choose a shop which I've bought stuff from at LowYat Plaza, so at least if the stuff don't work, I know where to send it... I glanced at the guys in charge of the booth and looked for the friendliest face, and I went up to this friendly-looking gurl in the middle. I tell you she's the sweetest computer salesperson I've ever met! With those adorable round eyes and sweet-as-sugar smile~ <3 Almost angelic (if all salespeople were this sweet the world would be a better place)~ She was real quick to show what options I have for the portable hard drive, explaining in easy-to-understand terms like for example, telling me that one model was considered "more pretty". Haha... There was a point in which I asked her what were the differences between 2 models she showed me, and she bent a lil blur and said she wasn't sure (while running to ask her colleague). I mentioned to her that I didn't know much about hard disks, and funnily she replied "neither do I~". She's like so cutely innocent... sadly that short moment might be the last and only time I'd ever get to see her, the cruel fate of meeting a stranger out of the blue. Happens all the time, well at least it was a memorable moment meeting her while it lasted~
My Chemical Romance LIVE
Oh yeah Oh yeah Oh yeah, I've be waiting for them to step onto our soil (despite them being so funny and saying that they didn't expect to get so much support from a country they can't spell). My Chemical Romance hit Malaysia hard and their concert rawked like crazy! Went with my bro & fren on Saturday. It was a superb open-air concert (the 1st for MCR btw). My only complaint was that the organisers for the Malaysian leg totally sucked, everything was unorganised, there was a horrendous queue at the entrance. Despite us waiting in the rain for 6pm, they instead asked us to all cram at the entrance (so the damn queue was for nothing) and get further drenched while they take their own sweet time to open the gates (at the comfort of the shelter they had). Luckily I was wearing a waterproof Korea-Japan 2002 World Cup jersey and matching waterproof Dockers (all in black of course). But my shoes didn't share the same fate, the soles tore off almost completely by concert end (possibly die to the water)... Oh yeah, and when you're bringing in an artiste to perform here, please, please, please don't ever tarnish a concert with crap nonsense like "users of X-PAX can get discounts, get priority seating and all the other bullshit", because this is a big INSULT to true fans of a particular artiste, who might not be using the said product. The opening acts were pretty lame, but anyways the main thing was the concert and boy were My Chemical Romance good! Rain poured but the fans stood there singing along and dancing to the songs. Well, the organisers gave some made-in-China plastic raincoats for us, but even that had to be distributed by the fans. It was like wearing "plastik kedai runcit" on our heads. LoL... Lead singer Gerard Way seemed almost lunatic at times, he's just so cool... The acoustics weren't that good (as expected from an open-air location, and Stadium Merdeka isn't exactly one of the better locations) but it was still totally awesome. It had never been so much fun head banging in the rain~ By the end of the concert, I looked like someone who belonged to the band, messy hair and all... It was rilly good, I hope they visit us again... and I also hope and pray that if BoA or SNSD visits us, they wouldn't get such a lousy organiser or venue and it would be fair, while retaining the same amount of entertainment value~
Oh well, that's all for this time, I'll have some more stuff to post for next time (dun have the pics with me at the moment~
PEACE and God Bless,
Aris
