Sneaks and Peeks~

Hehehe... I dunno what's gotten into me... I've decided to add another post. XD

Sneak Peek: TF2007
I'm sure most of you would have heard by now bout Transformers: The Movie set due next year. Lots of leaks were reported, scripts, etc... lots were deemed fake. But here are some facts you can look forward to (come on, who DOESN'T look forward to a live-action Transformers movie?)...

WARNING: Scroll away if you do not like spoilers... these are small ones, but spoilers nevertheless. So if you dun mind that, just scroll down :)

---

Bumblebee's NOT a VW Beetle
This must be one of the biggest moans from Transformers fans. Volkswagen's reluctance to participate in any war-based movie leaves Michael Bay with no choice. So sadly he will not be a Bug, but a Chevrolet Camaro. There's more to this, but I won't spoil that much. There's also a pic of him in mid-transformation online, but I won't post that as many sites were asked to bring it down. So the pic's mosaic-ed. And there's the Camaro of course, previously seen as a concept at motorshows (and on Discovery Channel's Rides programme)... Apparently he's the only Transformer that has a full-scale model. The others are purely CGi.

Teaser Trailer Scooped!
Gosh... even a short teaser trailer can be scooped... I won't go into details, just wait for Pirates of the Carribean II, which is said to be the 1st movie to feature the Transformers Teaser Trailer from July 6th onwards (it's more fun that way, eh?). The trailer will be unveiled on the 4th of July this year on the official website at http://www.transformersmovie.com/

Net=Snail

YaWn~Have been trying to catch up on sleep lately. Too much work and too little time for much else... Dah la kena lecture from Fifi on sleep (you ain't doing too well either, sister... haha) more on that later. And NO, this has nothing to do with World cup either, I've only caught 1 game so far, which was a repeat of England vs Sweden. Well, helping out with favors... but I guess it's lesser now. Nope, I'm not complaining, I'm helping cos I care. Anyway, couldn't get online much for the last week or so due to bad connection... so I could hardly check my e-mails, let alone blog. Which explains the back-dated entry. I'll post on the events at The Curve later on.

Da Vinci Code Again
Watched The Da Vinci Code again... this time I understand the gaps in the story better, and the climax scene was felt in full... This is an excellent movie, well made. After the movie I passed this cute girl, I'm not so sure, but she seemed really familiar. But I just couldn't make out who she was. She was a mature young lady, perhaps a few years older than me. She gave a smiling glance at me, and that was it... Couldn't recall who she was, but she had this really familiar cute look. . Oh well, probably never gonna see her ever gain.

Nikki's Caramu Vid
Nikki launched her much-hyped music video recently, and honestly it didn't disappoint. It features good choreography, cool lighting, dressing, effects, the whole thing! The video is so professionally done, it's as if it was done abroad. But scenes in KL remind you what country Nikki is from. She definitely has it going on. Nikki is da Idol~ So proud of her, never regretted supporting her during season 1. Here's the video, have a look, courtesy of Mr.V...

Shady Tint
The Bug got a brand-new high-quality tint for the rear screen. Looks simply wonderful with the slight green hue. Not only that, it gets a new 3rd brake light too... Looks lovely~

Okla, not much else to say for now... will get back on The Curve's happenings... Can't wait for this Friday's Top-20 show. The performances were simply superb, especially that certain someone's... hee hee. for now, just hoping the internet connection will be better, gosh even forumming is tough...

Vrrroooommmm~

Haven't been in the best of moods lately... well, it's caused by certain factors, which I just dun wish to mention. I guess I'm one of those who thinks way too much and also the type who worries a lot... Sigh, must try to swing that back to the right side up. >.<

Cars
Watched Cars... it's super! I haven't had so much fun during a movie in a long time. A collaboration between Pixar and Disney, was supposed to be their last, before Disney bought them over. And I must say it's a gem.
1st thing one would notice would be the amazing amount of detail sqeezed into this almost 2-hour-long 3D animation. The metallic reflection on car bodies, the sparkle paintjob, the rust effects, night lighting, scenery, etc... goodness. It's a masterpiece by itself. The lil details are worth watching too, like bugs... they're not the bugs you and I see. No... they're really Bugs! Hee hee... And the hills, like how people like to imagine the hills in shape of animals, cars imagine them in shape of automobile parts... like fenders and tailfins... and the clouds... they're in the shape of tyre tracks! You have got to see this to believe it. I wonder how long they took to render the entire movie~
2nd, the cars! Gosh, you'd have to watch to understand what I mean... every car is a real make! (except Lightning McQueen) So you'll see Porsches, Miatas, Maseratis, Chryslers, Dodges, Toyotas, Cadillacs, Macks, Fiats, and the list goes on! I noticed there was even a Corolla Altis and yeah, a special appearance of a Ferrari 430... One of the most special is a 1951 Hudson Hornet, which is the character Doc Hudson. There's even this character, Ramone, a 1959 Chevrolet Impala who changes his color in EVERY scene! It was so much fun to watch them talk and well... be alive! Haha...
3rd, the story... It revolves around rookie racer Lightning McQueen, who's dream is to get sponsorship from Dinoco, and get a neat blue paintjob and all the perks that come from it, including fame. But this fella's a bit of a show-off, and celf-centered. As in he cares only for himself. And by a freak accident he ends up in a lil town along Route 66 called Radiator Springs, where he discovers that there's more to life than just... well... fame, fortune and glory. It's a real heartwarming story, with lovable characters like Sally the 03' Porsche 911, Mater the tow truck, Fillmore the VW Bus, Sarge the WWII Jeep... and the list goes on and on... they're all so unique and fun and it really adds to the enjoyment of the movie. And the story can really be associated to real life, as in when new purpose-built highways are built, the good-old routes feel the effects. I'd definitely recommend this movie to anyone. Just make sure you stay back for the ENTIRE credits... it's worth it :)
Neo Advert
I'm sure most of you guys have seen the Neo by now. It's one solid and good looking car... and I'm sure most would have also seen or heard the ad. It's pretty neat. I've always liked Proton ads as they're pretty artistic or creative, depending on the vehicle. The most memorable to me was the original Satria ad, with the car jumping and speeding on wet roads with all the pahlawan surrounding it. The GEN.2 started making it classy, and I loved the Savvy's monster ad. Definitely one of the country's cutest and most interesting car ads. And here we come to the Satria Neo's ad. It's classy, with a leng chai and pretty girl to reflect the youths that they are targetting. The car is portrayed as desirable and looks good. I love the eye concept they used... real cool.

Neo Nite

Hmm... lots to say, but some are restricted. There are topics that are to be kept quiet for stated reasons and best interest, and there are topics that... well... just can't be revealed... but oh well... not everything can be said on my blog anymore. It's just not the same. But anyways, not all is secretive... the last week or so has been rather eventful... car launches, shows, new foodspots and hefty car service bills~

Neo Unleashed
Finally, the SRM was launched... 2 years of following it's progress, and I admit it's a gem. It's the first Proton to keep it's name in the 2nd generation, although it's not the 1st of Proton's 2nd Generation cars. Like Wira=GEN.2 and Tiara=Savvy... But for this launch, they decided to keep the name "Satria" despite it being an all-new car. Something tells me the original name of the GEN.2 was Proton Wira GEN.2... Hee hee... I have a thing for 2-door cars. Simply love them. The cars I've driven have all been 2-doors (stopped with the Alfa). Noticed the wrapped-up cars the night before (will get back to that later). In the morning, took this shot at the same place in Bangsar.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Waited till the 4.50pm launch time on the office tv... launched by our PM, the car was officially unveiled as the Proton Satria Neo. Looks really lovely, a LOT of cues taken from the GTi. I know cos our family has one... lol. Went to the outlet in Putra Perdana to check it out, both 1.3L and 1.6L versions. Simply lovely, the shape, low-rider look, the flared wheel arches, the cool central exhaust, Audi-inspired dash with COOL aircond dials and adjustments (you twist the vent itself!), GTi-inspired seats (semi-bucket tho), projector headlamps (does this mean bulbs for my Alfa will be easier to find?), neat sliding (Volvo-style) gearshift gate for manual, steering-mounted radio controls, smart rims and lil details... But it's unlikely I'm getting one. I'll stick to the Alfa till my job allows me to get a nice new quality car... Here are some pics from Proton and the brochure...

Overall a real nice car... hope this helps bring Proton back on track. he quality is rock-solid, just like the Savvy (one of my fav models). If Proton can maintain the quality of the materials to a standard similar to the Juara (one of the best, 2nd only to the Alfa-dana), I'm sure they'll go far, as their body strength and rigidity is real good, and handling is well-sorted out. Kudos to Proton for coming out with the Satria Neo.

OIAM Spoilers
As many have known, the media seemed to have blundered and revealed the Top-10 of One in a Million. It appeared in almost every major newspaper... It might have been an 8TV mistake OR a mis-communication. But anyways, the damage is done. I won't reveal the whole thing that happened but I guess a pic or two wouldn't hurt right? (thx to cilipadi for some of the pix) The full thing would be revealed as the episode airs on 8TV. I'm particularly proud of Fifi for making it thru, despite being not well and against a formidable partner. As a sign of gratitude for making it that far, she donated food to the mosque the next day. Such a sweet gurl. will be hoping for the best from now on, as it is seriously one tough competition, with all the good talents in the Top-10. The additional 2 will be added in in the episode after the Knockout, making it the Top-12. Quite sad when certain favourites of mine were eliminated (but not THE favourite... hee hee), we'll just have to wait and see...

Can the real Farah please raise your hand?

Late Nite Fever
Hanged out with Farah the next nite, it was a last minute thingy and I was about to go home... Picked Ulee up and met at Penang Mari (where else?). Fifi was blur again, turned-up an hour later (not dat I mind) becos she was waiting for my response... hee hee... actually we promised to meet up half and hour after the call. But anyways, was fun with all the various stories and gossip... and we were joined by Lokman, a fellow OIAM finalist and his fren for a while. After he balik, we still went on till quite late... too many stories! It was a sign to stop when Fifi starts saying wrong things... (hee hee...) So started heading home. Lil Myn didn't wana leave the house so she missed a ride in the Bug... haha...

Okla I wana stop now...

SRM & OIAM

Still sleepy, but trying to handle it... hope to get some rest tonight... Lots of things going to happen tomorrow...

Proton Satria Neo (SRM)
Well, like most people know by now, the Proton SRM's name is the Satria Neo, and it's due for launch tomorrow. It's basically a 2-door GEN.2, with unique components and more style. And I heard it uses better steel too... so I guess we can be assured of a sleek and solid car. I find it really nice, can't wait to check it out in person tomorrow... Here are some pics leaked from the official site (has since been removed)

OIAM Top-20 Recording
Farah asked me to come to the recording of One in a Million's Top-20 show. Finished work as fast as I could and rushed to fetch Ulee who also went. Arrived at Sri Pentas 2 at almost 8pm. Waited for Farah's mummy, Mak Long and Munchie to come. Yaya and buddies were there too... Audiences were called according to families. I sat quite at the back, as there was only space for about 5 family members in front. I won't leak anything out, you'll have to catch the show in two weeks on 8TV. All I can say is that the new stage is really classy, and you're in for a few shockers...

Okla not much to say today,

Sleepy...

Oh gosh i feel so nauseous... slept only an hour the previous night. Don't ask why... and since work still isn't in, I may as well write some stuff...

Football?
What Football?
Hereby I admit I have not watched a single game of soccer since the World Cup started. Call me nuts but it's just something that doesn't really interest me. Maybe I'll catch some of the later games, but for now I feel the timing is hust nuts... And not just me, the whole family has not caught up with a single game... haha... 1st time we're like this during a World Cup...

Sickly...
Gosh feel so sick... I need rest, but dunno how to get some... thank goodness my scar from my silly accident vs the cd drive has mostly healed. Gosh, the hard plastic drive made a deep 4cm gash on my ankle... -_-" And I'm just wanting work to finish asap... I've got plans today and I need the time...

Alfadana
My mum got her new Alfadana (Alfa Romeo+Proton Perdana, go figure) as a replacement for her old office car. Had a nice drive of it last night. Nice... solid feel to the doors, those folks at Proton definitely did something... And new dash, centre console, steering wheel, upholstery, and so many new stuff... okla for an update. Feels good to drive, it's quieter, smells like leather... Love the red lighting, although I'd prefer the GTi's blue (also on SRM)... Speaking of the SRM, they have so far released 2 of the 3 teaser pics...

I've seen the whole thing, so I guess dunno wat to comment... just wait for it and see...

Drivers: Women vs Men

Hmm... I haven't been saying much lately. Perhaps I'm not the type who can express myself well... or maybe I do, just that I'm not the type who'd let it all out on a blog, fearing others might find out... Truth is, all isn't all rosy and smiles... I have lots and lots of things on my mind, and more often than not, I believe it's leading to depression. Gosh... get a grip! Yeah, masking myself with a smile... yet according to many, I'm not good at covering up. But I'm trying my best to solve it myself. I'm not a quitter, and as long as I am detirmined, I'll keep on fighting...

Sigh... nvm... change topic...

Are women drivers worse than men?
Ok this was the topic on the radio this morning. Interesting, and I believe it can be argued till the cows come home. Ok, lets get to facts. It's true that men tend to drive wildly, perhaps it's instinct, and somehow I can't help notice that in KL, it's sort of like a lil 'war' for supremecy. Call me nuts but I think it's true. Check out those souped-up rides or those huge behemoths, pushing you into a corner... showing you who's boss. Yeah right... my lil bug just slips in between them traffic. Leaving all behind. In other words, 'malas nak layan' them... But when I take the 155, it's a whole new ball game. What's with people trying to race you? It's like they're an hour late for work or something. At the traffic light, they try to outdo you, at the junction, they dun let you 'take their position'. Kiasu gila... Ok, not all guys are like dat, there is another group, sensible ones, but this includes the incredibly slow ones... The sensible ones are good, ok, they dun get in your way and they obey traffic. But the road hogs, I just dun get it, didn't they learn which lane is the 'slow' lane? Even as u signal, flash and horn them, they still maintain position... -_-"

Girls on the other hand, i believe fall into 3 groups. The 1st are the sensible, good-girl types. I respect these, and these are the ones you'd most probably courteously let through in a jam. hee hee... 2nd type, the real mean, 'melampau' makcik type. Oh God... these types will cut in front of you with no signal, or take your lot even though they came after you, block you from exiting a junction. Their weapon? They buat muka selamba and dun look at you. Gosh... they can really get on your nerves... 3rd type, the racer girl. I mean these girls dun wana let guys outdo them, so they're tough, mean and fast on the road. Experienced Farah behind the wheel a couple of times, she clearly falls into this category... Taking sharp corners with speed and agility, and having fun in the process... but there's something cool about these type of girls that I really admire. Haha...

I guess the summary is that we have to face the fact that there are different categories of drivers for both men and women. I dun think it's proper to generalise it as "men are better than women", or "women are more careful than men". Both have their own good and bad types... And so ends my not-so-useful take on this topic.

PEACE and God Bless,
Aris Tee

Car-Filled Week...

The last week or so were surely full of cars... yeah, cars were definitely the hottest topic around, with the Kuala Lumpur International Motorshow finally here after being delayed from it's scheduled 2005 date (it's a once-in-2 years-thingy). And there were lots of car news and activities too...

Fun at KLIMS 2006
Okay, I had a helluva time taking photos, check out my gallery, 461 photos, tons of cars... 4 cameras; 3 of them digital. Lucky I didn't add a 5th, the W550i. Hee hee... Yeah, KLIMS '06 was simply fabulous! Went there at around 4pm, and ended up going home at almost 10pm. Well, there were some disappointment with VW, BMW and Alfa Romeo giving it a miss, but the overall show had a very nice array of cars on show. The best must definitely be from either Toyota, Ford or Honda, displaying their latest concept vehicles. Volvo, Skoda and Kosmo shined too... Proton displayed their latest Waja facelift and also the Zerokit GEN.2 while Perodua previewed the Kenari RS, Myvi Sport and Kancil Replacement Model. China cars seemed to have taken over Malaysia by storm, but in terms of quality, they still have lots of homework to do... My favourite was the smart corner, with my new dream car, the forfour... wow... It's sad that Proton couldn't showcase their SRM, due to unforeseen circumstances. Oh yeah... I caught a glimpse of April Yong at the Mitsubishi section. She's so super cute... but her shift was over so didn't manage to meet her *sad*. After the 5 hours of walking, my leg got cramped! Hee hee... Kudos to the organisers for staging such a wonderful show!

Juara Club goes to Tanjung Malim
It was a wonderful event... managed to spare some time to join the Juara Club on an trip to Proton's new plant in Tanjung Malim, Perak. We had quite a fair turnout, 10 cars, though one broke down. Met up at Rawang R&R first, most of us had breakfast and checked each other's rides after that. There was a rough briefing, fueling up and then we were off. Travelling as 8 Juaras sure got the attention of a lot of road users, as we convoyed on the left lane. But it sure was fun... we averaged a decent 100-110kmh so that everyone could keep up.

Arrival at Tanjung Malim

Got a lil lost when we got there, going through some kampung area and the pekan, although it sort of made the whole outing more memorable.

Lost in a small pekan

No, nothing's wrong with your speakers or the sound of both videos. Juaras DO sound like aeroplanes during acceleration... hee hee...

Rendevous with the 9th Juara (from Ipoh) near the Proton Plant. We had a wonderful tour there, going through 2 of the 5 factory shops, which are the Stamping and Body Assembly. We couldn't access the rest, because the yet-to-be-launched SRM (Satria Replacement Model) was there (actually it was also in the other 2 shops... lol). Hope to see the rest someday. After the tour, we were presented with details of the factory and a Q&A session. Proton was nice to provide us such delicious lunch too. Oh, and we did get a glimpse of the SRM, and I tell you it's gorgeous! After all that, there was a photoshoot and the clup proceeded to head to the waterfalls. We branched off because of plans in the evening. Quite a memorable trip, hope there will be more to come...

Ohya... we now have our own uniforms! YaY~!
