Review of 2006 - The year that was...
Wow... that was fast... here we are again, at the crossroads, as we venture into the new year of 2007. A lot of lessons learnt, numerous new happenings experienced. It was a year of growth and added maturity, a year of milestones and a year of surprises. A colorful year that was...
Working
Went through a lot at work, from the simple beginnings to hectic late-night schedules. Changing of templates to the new-look paper, and yeah, we also gained and lost Sindrom, which I thought was probably the best new addition to the paper, next to Living. Oh well, as there is rumor of its return, we'll just have to wait and see. We gained and lost colleagues, there were lots of mixed feelings. El (both of you lovely girls), Aween, Sock Boon, Calv, Trevor, Rash... I'll miss you guys. But hey, that's what "keeping in touch" is for, right? I worked harder and more focused than last year, and even got a chance to do what I've always wanted, which are photography assignments, at places like Zouk and also One in a Million. I gained lots of new friends, experiences and memories this year, we got to know each other better, work more efficiently, and I hope that things will be better next year.

Buddies
Yeah, you know who you are... what would the year be without you guys. You color my life, make me who I am. It was also a year to learn who makes really true friends, who'd be there for you through all the ups and downs... This was a year I saw friendship was at a level I never imagined. Here goes some special thank yous...
Chong & Boon
Of course, my best friends... what would I do without you guys... even though we don't meet as often as we used to, you guys were always there for me, sharing everything... (thank God for the HP and MSN Messenger). To spend hours on the phone despite being so late and miles apart... And to have Chong come over to KL was a super blessing. And Boon... I miss you so much sis!!! Come to KL larrr.... Love you guys very very muchsss...

Jess
Yes, you Jess! Always cute and lovely, thanks for being one of my closest friends (despite the really funny background we have), always understanding me the best, actually making time (all the time) when I need someone... closest thing to an angel... how on Earth can I ever thank you. You were always there for me, and good at things I'm not, and there's never a dull moment with you around. God bless you...
Jess
Nitt
We go way back rite? Well, Even though things aren't much like what it used to be, it's nice seeing how we both grow up in our new environments. You're always understanding and it's nice sharing our experiences whenever we meet. Thanks Nitt~

Haha... Nitt... remember this pic from our 1st year?
Fifi
Oh Fifi... you thought me a lot of important life lessons and you made me grow up. You made me realise things I never did before, and it was quite a journey. I wonder how I got to know such a nut like you. All the fun and laughter throughout the year, all the ups and downs... it was really something. Oh, the banners and the rush after work... gawsh...It was both fun and stressful to support you, but it was all sincere, for a friend and sis. I'm sure you know what I mean... I wish you all the best for next year, as 2 really big events are in store for you. Take care and God Bless~

Omigosh... but I sayang you lots and I thank God for letting me have such an adorable sis like you. We went through a lot this year, and I hope there'll be lots more fun next year...

RidezYeah... 2006 was another year of experiences with the Bug and 155. The Bug went around town and back with her "for sale" sign. Lots of calls, but no takers yet... Gained new rear tint and some touch-ups. Still hoping to find a good owner to take care of her... The 155 gained lots of new components, from a wheel to new headlamps... the rear gained one new tail light (and yeah, I still remember you who asked for me to crash and die, you know who you are. I won't curse back, but I pray God teaches you a lesson). The 155 has been running well, and it has helped a lot this year. Here's hoping for another great motoring year...

Whee~
Moviez2006 was a good year for movies, with lots of good ones making an impact... there are a few misses, but I dun think there's any need to go there. Some worth mentioning are The Host (aka Gwoemul... excellent visuals, wonderful acting, really entertaining + Doo-na Bae = hit!), Over the Hedge (laugh urself to pieces!), Happy Feet (a marvel in many ways), The Prestige (one of the best movies of the year... a real surprise), Superman Returns (hey, Superman's finally back!), Pirates of the Carribean : Dead Man's Chest (amazing how a Disney ride can go so far), Cicak-Man (a proud milestone in Malaysian cinematic history... seriously!), Descent (still felt guilty for bringing Fifi to this one), Failure to Launch (interesting storyline), Heart (gorgeous actors, wonderful mood settings, an art form in itself... and also a major tear-jerker), When a Stranger Calls (dunno why but it's kinda interesting), Ice Age 2 (laugh-fest again,,, with 2 mammoths this time), Cars (a gem, you have to watch to know why), Fast and Furious : Tokyo Drift (hey, there's fast cars and it's in Japan!), Cinta (artistic cinematography, creative storytelling), Da Vinci Code (that was one good movie...), Poseidon (really gripping), Eragon (oh-so-cool factor... and there's gorgeous Sienna Guillory...), Fun with Dick and Jane... eh, got alot more la, can't remmember XD
Trips
Yeah... went with the Juara Club for a 10-car convoy to Tanjung Malim to see Proton cars being made, and got a sneak preview of the Satria Neo, before its launch. That was quite a fun experience... and also our 1st log-distance convoy. 10 Juaras was actually a pretty good turn up. Also made it to Penang on my own for the 1st time... 4 hours of driving, but the ferry trip and everything on the island made up for it... it was my 1st time there in circa 12 years, so it was such an experience... Other than that, there were still lots of wonderful travels, and I hope next year there'll be more...

Looking back at all this.. seems that 2006 was in fact a great year after all... despite the hurt I received towards the end. It was a year of learning, feeling and experiencing. And I always have my family to share it with. That's the biggest blessing... plus, above all else, there's God watching over me. I may not always understand His ways of teaching me, but I'm sure it's for the better. Here's looking forward to a wonderful new year of surprises!
PEACE and God Bless,
Aris
