Keeping the Number in Check

What's a number to you? To some it may be age, while others is may be something simple like a cellphone number. But to Ally Darling (Anna Faris) in What's Your Number?, it's more than that.

You see, Ally's been getting a little desperate. With all the preparations underway for her sister's wedding, she stumbles across a magazine article on relationships and begins worrying about the fate of her own love life.

With an obscenely large number of past failed relationships (and some embarrassment), she decides to not increase that number and instead track down all her past loves to see if any have improved for the better. In the mess of things she also gets her hunky womanizer neighbour Colin (Chris Evans) to assist her with this.

What follows is a messy, raunchy and hilarious chain of events as she finds out that not every ex remains as you'd expect.

Immediately it was clear what the selling point of the movie was - the charismatic main leads. Admittedly, the two were instantly like-able, had good chemistry and were simply hilarious.

And the exes were also great in their parts, many of which will give you stitches. But even they couldn't help it if the flick has typical rom-com cliches. While the film has plenty of really funny moments and goofball jokes, it's the storyline that brings down the overall film.

Not to say that it's a bad film. Like most rom-com flicks, just bring your partner along, sit back, relax and enjoy it for some light-hearted fun.
