The Drop

The Drop

Finally got myself up to blogging again... entries have been rather... sporadic. Well, dun look at me, sometimes when you're not in the mood, you just can't do it~ And not having a computer at home for the last month and a half or so has impacted the frequency of my entries. Oh well, luckily still can use here and there... till I get a new major transplant.

CNY 2008
Yeah, I'm rather late in posting this, but I guess better late than never right? Posted a whole album of photos of mostly what we ate during new year~ Spent a lot of time with family bonding, tv movies and makan... lol~

Bibim Bap Mania~
Finally got to experience bibim bap... I've been longing for it for so long... I went to Sam-Sam at Pavilion, then asked the dude for a recommendation. He suggested the "Dolsot Bibim Bap", which comes with either beef or chicken and served on a hot rock bowl. It's basically mix rice with vege, mushrooms, etc and red pepper sauce. Oh, and you have to mix it up... And boy was it awesome! It sizzled and smelled so good... but I spent too much time taking photos and a video that the egg ended up cooked... haha... Needless to say I went bibim bap-mad since~

Hollys Coffee Happiness~
Continuing my Korean food spree, recently I went to Hollys Coffee at Cineleisure. At first glance no one would expect this lil coffee outlet to have anything remotely Korean about it. But the fact is that it's actually a well-known coffee chain from Korea, sort of like an alternative to the usual Starbucks of Coffee Bean. Tried the "Blueberry Iyote", which is some sort of Korean smoothie... it was so super good... and also tried the "Cheesy Kimbap", which is a lil like sushi. Such delicious stuff... couldn't spend too long there as I was rushing for a movie. Looking forward to going there again~

Ferrari Fever All Over Again!
Yeah, Shell recently started their Ferrari Model Car promotion again so here we go again with the collecting... These lil packs of fun are so cool, I've recently acquired the F40 and F599 GTB Fiorano... The detailing for something of this price range is really good, if you can get over the occasional scratch or mis-aligned prancing horse logo. They make wonderful photo subjects. I also can't contain my excitement that each of these cars have their own sounds!

Revoltech Fraulein Rin Tohsaka
Kelly's shop recently had a CNY sale, so there were lots of promotions like 20%-50% off items if you purchase another item of any kind. My preorder of Revoltech's Fraulein-series Rin Tohsaka (from Fate/Stay Night) shipped in, so I used this opportunity to utilise the promotion. Oh, and I received an angpow of RM10 (or was it RM5?) from them too. Anyways, Rin seems rilly detailed and she comes with a blade too~ It's quite different from the Rei figure...

Revoltech Megatron
"I am MEGATRON"~ That was the first thing I thought when I finally purchased this (with 20%-off of course). It's something I should've got long ago as it's rilly well-built and has such a wonderful metallic paintjob. The Revoltech joints work well with the figure, and in the elbows it's cleverly concealed. The figure allows cool poses allowing one to recreate a scene from the cartoon or comic... Oh, and it comes with additional hands and an extra head with a sinister smile. Have to admit he does look rather demonic from certain angles...

THE FACE is Here!

And now comes the big one... BoA's 6th Original Japanese album, THE FACE has dropped, just a day after it's launch in Japan. I'm so excited... I'm probably one of the 1st to get it as it'll take approximately 2 months for the localised version to reach our shores. This album is a turning point for BoA as it's her biggest album yet, with 15 tracks and 2 additional DVDs with tons of extras. This is the prelude to her US debut, so this is the time to see how much she has improved to date... and I believe it's a definite improvement from her last album. Maybe I'll post a review later. Oh, and her single "be with you." also shipped together with the album. I love this song~! I even have the poster on my wall about a week before it arrived~

THE FACE No.1 on Oricon
BoA's THE FACE album hits No.1 on Oricon charts a day after launch, making it her 6th back-to-back No.1 album, and this also makes her only the 2nd artiste after Ayumi Hamasaki to have 6 consecutive No.1 albums. That's quite an achievement if you ask me... I knew she could do it! Go go BoA!!!

Gasoline Cafe
Val recently visited us so we gave her a choice of places to go. She chose Gasoline Cafe so I was rilly happy. I really like the place as it has quite a nice atmosphere and setting. Plus the food's rilly good (Marmite Chicken is a must-try!). Tried their Coke Chicken Wings this time as I was curious to what on earth it was. Ordered a big plate for everyone to share. Tasted not bad, although me and Val ended up eating most of the wings (and arranged the bones~). I tried their "Garfield" smoothie which was so super good! It was chocolate but had hints of orange, plus a slice of orange stuck to it. Ordered Butter Chicken Rice, which didn't turn out as good as the Marmite Chicken Rice I had before. But anyways, I enjoyed the food as usual~

There were some problems this time around as some new dude took down our orders and ran away after I asked how big was a big serving of Coke Chicken Wings was. The 2nd waiter, this time a girl, was blur-blur too, but the orders she took down came. Unfortunately the 1st dude's orders went missing... which was weird. Some of the guys were feeling unhappy over this matter but soon the usual girl who works there came to set things right. She took down our remaining orders but she got quite a lot of scolding in the process. I was quite sad as she was a nice gurl (yea I sort of look for her everytime we go there) and tried to explain that some of the guys were new and inexperienced. Eventually all the meals came and after our meal some of the gang still weren't happy and asked everyone to walk off. Which we did, amidst all the confusion on what's going on. All the lil girl could say was "thank you!" like she always does.

I admit I'm the sort of person who can't have a clear conscience after such a thing, so I felt uneasy the whole night until my mum asked me about what happened. She explained that what I felt was right and even though the food was late, it was wrong to walk out like that, especially since everything came and all, plus it was actually tasty stuff. She then suggested that I go see them again after that. Which I did, the next day... I met up with the girl, who seemed really uneasy (she's so cute...) and had a nice talk with her, explaining what happened, etc and how we shouldn't have walked out. She instead kept apologising and insisted the meal was free as it was their mistake. I then explained that although it was late, the food still came, so she needn't feel so bad. After our lil talk I guess she felt better, cos I imagine she would've felt uneasy too after that incident. I guess everything should be cool now, it wasn't easy to face her after what happened, but I just wanted people to be happy... She asked to have a meal, but I had to decline as I was going somewhere else for some steamboat (yum!). She smiled before I left, asking to come again~ (oh, and I still can't get over the fact that I still haven't asked for her name! aarrgghh!!!) Hope to drop by again soon...

PS: She's adorable, isn't she?

Okla, I already feel that this post is longer than it should be. It's actually an accumulation of events, hence the length... Save the rest for the next entry.

PEACE and God Bless,
Aris Tee
