Crash and Burn

Crash and Burn
Things haven't been so good lately... been tryin to keep things off my mind... in vain. Well, watched The Bodyguard on TV the other day. Yeah, old movie, watched it numerous times, but I still find it a real classic... a tale of love that just can't be... and there's Whitney's really awesome yet sad version of "I Will Always Love You"...

If I should stay,
I would only be in your way.
So I'll go, but I know
I'll think of you ev'ry step of the way.

And I will always love you.
I will always love you.
You, my darling you. Hmm.

Bittersweet memories
that is all I'm taking with me.
So, goodbye. Please, don't cry.
We both know I'm not what you, you need.

And I will always love you.
I will always love you.

I hope life treats you kind
And I hope you have all you've dreamed of.
And I wish to you, joy and happiness.
But above all this, I wish you love.

And I will always love you.
I will always love you.
I will always love you.
I will always love you.
I will always love you.
I, I will always love you.

You, darling, I love you.
Ooh, I'll always, I'll always love you.

And the following day I heard Clay Aiken singing his version of "Without You"... simple lyrics, but message well said...

No I can't forget this evening
Or your face as you were leaving
But I guess that's just the way
The story goes

You always smile but in your eyes
Your sorrow shows
Yes it shows

No I can't forget tomorrow
When I think of all my sorrow
When I had you there
But then I let you go
And now it's only fair
That I should let you know
What you should know

I can't live
If living is without you
I can't live
I can't give anymore
I can't live
If living is without you
I can't give
I can't give anymore

Well I can't forget this evening
Or your face as you were leaving
But I guess that's just the way
The story goes
You always smile but in your eyes
Your sorrow shows
Yes it shows

I can't live
If living is without you
I can't live
I can't give any more
I can't live
If living is without you
I can't give
I can't give anymore

Yeah I know... I should be moving on instead of letting such songs affect me (dun get me wrong, I've always loved those songs, it's just the timing... and If you haven't, you'd better give them a listen...), but it's just so hard to do. She has taken the next step with her guy, and honestly I'm happy for her. If it makes her happy then I should be happy for her... even if it hurts me so much in the long run. Why? Because I love her... perhaps more than she'll ever know. But does it matter now? It's part of life... perhaps we just were never meant to be... I'd be lying if I say I never hoped that things would turn around in the end... hard as it may be, it's time to move on, and perhaps all these events are meant to make me do so... I just want her to be happy.

But I still wonder, how... oh how... can time ever mend this soul who has crashed and burned?

PEACE & God Bless,
Aris
