Now and Then, Here and There...

Okla, time to push everything aside... the last month or so has been full of ups and downs, it was quite an experience... those close to me shud understand what I'm going thru, and it's just hard. Plain hard. I'm not a quitter, and I don't plan on being one, so I'll just keep on fighting. Nothing shall bring down my spirit and will to carry on. Okla, not everything's negative... let's not get into that... yet. Just felt like writing, so here goes...

Haze
Gosh... it's that time of the year again... those hazy clouds from the land next door... sigh. Intoxicatingly chokable. And you don't know how bad it is until you have to drive at night in the middle of a thunderstorm... It's really bad. People all around getting sick, and you get sick in the process too... it's awful... but looks like it might end soon. Let's hope and pray...

All the Best
Oh, the time has come and Aween and Sock Boon finished their 100-day internship. And gosh how it totally super-duperly miss those 2 cute (naughty) girls... not being able to kacau them like usual just wasn't fun... But well, with Sindrom abolished and Shah missing it was just pointless for them to stay. I'll really miss Sindrom. It was a part of the paper which I really liked laying out and reading (other than Living). I ajak-ed them out for a buka puasa session one nite. We were supposed to meet at Pizza Hut, but they arrived 1st while me and El couldn't leave on time die to the sports section being late... Sigh. When we arrived, they had finished eating, but nice enuff to join us for makan at KFC instead. It was fun... Aween being crazy as usual and Sock Boon with her funny "photo-pose-mode". Snapped lotsa pix... hee hee. Aween brought along 2 friends (from The Star if I'm not mistaken... fun people). Aween left early, but Sock Boon joined for shopping. Oh, I found Gokusen II (original DVD) at Anime Tech. Golly... Well, didn't want the night to end, but we told each other to keep in touch.

Manga MadnessBeen reading too much manga lately... from the ones bought from Borders and Kinokuniya, to the scanlations that people have made. Glued to a couple of good ones, namely AirGear, Tende Freeze!, School Rumble, Parallel, Girls Saurus, Hot Milk and the latest issues of Negima and Alita : Last Order. Err... is that too much? They're really nice... pretty addictive.

One in a MillionOh... yeah, I haven't been blogging bout OIAM. Well, it was a good show, just that the winner got voted out after the Top-5 show. Didn't really bother with the program after that tho. Watched, but it's just not the same. Don't ask me who I voted, cos I didn't. Well, I was hoping out of the Top-3, Alif would win. Was never a fan of Faizal (altho not a bad effort for the finale), and for Suki, well, she's ok-ok la. Not seeing Farah up there just wasn't right. I went to the Finale with the electric blue squad and HUGE Farah banners. Dun get me started on how disappointed I was when she got voted out. Not wif her, it's just the whole system's kinda screwed up from the start... The creative and really good ones get the boot... what the... It promoted hate and lots of negativity. And bias judges just didn't help... Well, she was no longer in the competition from the Top-4 onwards, but she still was our winner. Hee hee... God-wiling, good things happen to those who deserve it, so I guess her time will come...

Her final song in OIAM, phenomenally awesome... she gave the best performance that night...
Proving to everyone that undoubtfully, the winner of OIAM left before the Top-4 show...

Celebrated with the loudest cheers EVER from the crowd. She is much loved by all...

Wherever Farah goes, Farahnatics shall follow... even if it's the Grand Finale!
And since there weren't any 'Farah' hand signs, we made our own!

Prey
It's been a while since I've enjoyed a game this much. Prey, the long-awaited game from the makers of the Duke Nukem trilogy... i had high expectations, but I didn't expect the game to EXCEED them in every way! We're talking bout realistic textures and graphics, and they can be set to run pretty smoothly on my 2800+ AMD Athlon 64 on medium settings. Would love to see how high-res would look like though.

The storyline's pretty goofy in text, but when you see it on the screen, it's a real marvel... You're Tommy, a native American indian. Yeah... he's a red indian alright. A modern one. So much that he's ignored most of his herritage, which his grandpa would nag him on and on about... The story starts with him, his girlfriend and his granpa being kidnapped by aliens, along with probably the whole town. What follows is gruesomely nauseating... the aliens, the ship, the experiments, the torture, the eggs, newborn, alien devices, etc... but that's not all...

The game's packed to the brim with innovation. The weapons are mostly alien. Alien=Cool. They work really well. And after learning a bit about your herritage, you can lift your spirit from your body and use a spirit bow, kick ass and walk through walls... And it also can give you some form of imortality... Cool eh? The portal technology is the coolest thing. You see, what you see in the portal, is another section of the map, or another map. You can look inside it, you can shoot inside it, you can walk through and fro (depending on the portal) and you'll realise the 2 sections are seamlessly joined together. Has to be experienced to be fully understood. And with magnetic walkways and multi-gravitational devices, this game offers a truly 360° experience. It can be rather... nauseating to those who have motion sickness...

I haven't gone that deep into the game, so I might find more than what I've found... so far, the torture (grinding) chamber, the children's school (complete with ghostly spirits of children) and the crashed aircraft (grabbed as a whole) sections were the most disturbing to me...

Gross, isn't it?

The usage of portal technology is one of the coolest things in the game...

Alien technology rocks!

Now, that's really disturbing, right?

Where's a dictionary when you need one?

Okla... I dun wanna talk too much... that's all for this time. Will add more soon :)

PEACE and God Bless,
Aris
